Dear Lord Jesus

There are times when I just do not forget a song, above all, a real song with a message. This song will lift everyone to tears - I guarantee it.

It was around Christmas time in 1989 that I recorded this song on the radio. That was before I discovered CDs. I have a lot of shots from the radio at that time.

The song, which I am referring to the right, Dear Lord Jesus. It was written by Richard and calendar to a nine-year girl who sang at that time named Sharon Batts.

Before IDisplay the text of this poignant song of immense feeling, I'll give you the facts about the song. It is a true story about child abuse.

In New York City, on 14 May 1981, a baby girl was born under the name Elizabeth Lisa Launders. In November of 1987, came the whole world to know her as "Lisa Steinberg."

On 1 November 1987 Lisa Steinberg was appointed to death by a New York lawyer, defeated Joel Steinberg. This brutal, inhumaneCrimes occurred in 14 West 10th Street in Greenwich Village. It would later wake-up call for the child welfare authorities and the law on how it would be such an unimaginable crime as they deal with.

First, he proposed to live in the wild-lover, Hedda Nussbaum. Then he took some blows to the head of Lisa. Her little brother was found in a back room, lying on the floor around his crib with a short length of rope, dressed in dirty clothes tied.

As if this were not bad enough, bothmore than 12 hours waiting to call for help. Lisa did not die on that day she died three days later from severe head injuries.

When Hedda later, Lisa was no longer breathing, Joel still refused to call for help, but ultimately. Lisa was in a coma for three days.

This low-life, child-killer who deserves no name - just a shame and a ticket to hell. And his live-in lover, earns more than what she has. He rose slightly in the eyes of the law. In 1989 he was found guilty offirst-degree manslaughter, then, after he released only 15 years.

Many others should be responsible for this crime. Child social workers, policemen and even a teacher who had evidence of the abuse on the body of Lisa's seen, not to this or nothing to report about it. So we have another case of a child, would have been saved if someone had only been willing to help her.

Hedda Nussbaum, was abused by her boyfriend, Joel Steinberg, for years, and was beaten by himshortly before he blows that killed Lisa, delivered, therefore, she was not in a position to help Lisa. She was not prosecuted because they had not found help Lisa, and was not in their abuse of other parties rather than reporting it.

Paid after the birth of Lisa, her biological mother, Joel Steinberg, a lawyer, $ 500, a find adoptive homes for them. A house was never found, and although he never adopted Lisa, she lived with Joel for their entire short life.

Lisa's birth mother wasreceived 15 million U.S. dollars compensation in September 2003 by a civil suit she filed against Steinberg, Nussbaum and various city agencies. The City of New York settled without admitting any wrongdoing in 1999 and paid $ 985,000.

For more information on these heinous crimes, sign Lisa Steinberg in your search. Also, by clicking on the title of the song, Dear Mr. Jesus, the song can be downloaded.

Lisa deserves to live a long andhappy life. She deserves the recognition and attention of child abuse awareness. I'll leave you with the lyrics of this particular song, which is definitely a moving story of Lisa's short life of gross negligence and fatal abuse.

Dear Lord Jesus

(Words and music by Richard calendar to and sung by Sharon Batts)

Dear Lord Jesus

I just had to write it for you

Something really scared of me

When I saw it in the news

A story about a little girl

Beaten and blackblue

Jesus thought I was this right for you

Dear Lord Jesus

I do not understand

Why they took away her mom and dad

I know that they do not mean to take,

With wild and angry hands

Tell them how great they are, I pray

Please do not let them hurt your children

We need love and shelter from the storm

Please do not let them hurt your children

Will not you keep us safe and warm

Dear Lord Jesus

They say that they can die

Oh, II hope that the doctors, the pain

I know that you could save her

And they take to the skies

She would never hurt again

Please do not let them hurt your children

We need love and shelter from the storm

Please do not let them hurt your children

Will not you keep us safe and warm

Dear Lord Jesus

Please tell me what to do

And please do not tell my daddy

But my mom beats me

Please do not let them hurt yourChildren

We need love and shelter from the storm

Please do not let them hurt your children

Will not you keep us safe and warm

Please do not let them hurt your children

They need love and shelter from the storm

Please do not let them hurt your children

Will not you keep us safe and warm

END
