The Exercise Afterglow

Feels good, right? This is an hour or so you've just spent doing your workout is not only a better paid you, but also in a beautiful, intoxicating rush of endorphins in the brain. That, my friends, is what is a real natural high, and those who know how to exercise regularly, how well it can be.

An endorphin high occurs when a strenuous type of exercise such as walking to do, jumping rope, aerobics and boxing for a longer period. Endorphins and enkephalinsare chemicals that naturally by the pituitary gland and hypothalamus of pain sensations produced in the body block, and give you a feeling of well being. You can be stronger than all other opiates, and quite frankly, are much better for you, as the body naturally produces it.

If you are exercising your body's own painkillers, the hardest to go right to work, normally occur somewhere after 10 to 30 minutes or so. Not a bad deal, and best of all, it's free! Let's justcall of nature too little to say "you can look good and feel good, darling!".

So let's go get it! Hit the park, press the gym go for a ride. Runners are not the only ones who have the privilege to experience "runner's high". Just be sure to work very hard, and before you know it, you will feel absolutely great!
